Floral Swirls: Photos by Fong Qi Wei
Photos focusing on the color of flowers as they are spun around.
In nature, we see mainly the greens of leaves, browns of soil, and the blues of the skies. These are the broad colors of nature. Flowers, however, are singular bursts of colors on such landscapes. Often combining various colors within a flower or even in a single petal, these structures of nature have evolved specifically to demand attention from pollinators like birds, bees, and even humans.
Our very first primitive encounters with colors (and combinations of) must have been influenced largely by flowers. Thus, our color palette in various designs must have been subtly inspired as well.
