Abstract photos of undefined subject matter.
Abstraction allows a viewer to avoid or at least examine preconceived notions as to what something “is supposed to be”. With neither conventional reference nor title one can experience the feeling or energy of a work at its most fundamental level. One should be left with unanswered questions. I remember reading somewhere that Jackson Pollock actually painted in the air and the pieces we are left with today are mere shadows of the pictures he floated above the canvas at the moment of conception. I like that idea.
