Colorful glass works by collaborative glassmakers Stephen Gillies and Kate Jones. The one-of-a-kind sculptures in pebble form were inspired by the North York Moors landscape in the UK, where their studio is also located. The pieces draw inspiration from the elemental beauty of their rural surroundings which have been carved by the harsh climate and years of land management.
We make our glass by hand in Rosedale Abbey, inspired by our location in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. We observe the shapes, colour, textures and beauty found in the slow construction of the landscape around us and the changes brought about by thousands of years of land management and the harsh northern elements.
