A beautiful recreation of Van Gogh's Starry Night and a self-portrait of the Dutch painter done in Ebru by artist Garip Ay. Ebru is a traditional Turkish marbling technique which can be defined as painting on water and transferring the paint onto paper. The artist begins by pouring a dark solution to the water to thicken it and increase its viscosity. He then drips blue paint onto the surface of the water using a brush and gradually adds more color. The artist uses another brush to create the swirling strokes that defined Van Gogh's masterpiece. The results of this process are unique and the same design can't be duplicated again.
