Otherworldly and surreal collages by California-based artist, filmmaker, and illustrator Eugenia Loli. Sourcing her images from vintage magazines that she received as a donation, Loli switched to pop art themes rather than more in-depth and political artworks as a form of escapism. She creates her collages by finding a base image, and then building around it stating that "most of the time, I try to say something important via my art, but other times it’s just about doodling."
For the vast majority of my work there's a meaning behind them. I usually do this via presenting a "narrative" scene in my collages, like there's something bigger going on than what's merely depicted. Sometimes the scene is witty or sarcastic, sometimes it's horrific with a sense of danger or urgency, sometimes it's chill. I leave it to the viewer's imagination to fill-in the blanks of the story plot.See more of Eugenia Loli's work on Instagram or purchase her work at her online store.
