Flat terrariums made entirely out of real dried leaves and plants by designer Jessica Rosenkranz based in Pawtucket, RI. The leaves are collected and pressed, preserving them in various states of decay for a fascinating range of colors and textures, and then laser cut and engraved. The pieces are then combined to form a unique scene and then pressed under etched acrylic.
I am enamored by terrariums—and plants in general—but often the beautiful photos online are not particularly botanically correct. A bog plant and a cactus do not want to live together in a sealed jar. But in the world of flat terrariums, the plants are far more obedient.
