What is this?Faith is Torment is a curated blog featuring art, photography, architecture, design, and animation from established and emerging artists around the world. This personal blog is just me acting as an art and design curator, without the credentials.
Hello, I'm Jason Jose and I'm the creator of Faith is Torment. I started this blog in 2011 just to serve as a daily dose of inspiration and as a design reference. The images I post here are curated from the art and design world, mostly stuff I like but I think will appeal to everybody as well. As an artist/painter/designer, I respond more to visual things than reading about something so my posts require little to no explanation. Also, I think the artist/designer can explain their work better than I can.
Image CreditsIn most cases, I try to link back first to the artist/designer. If I know the original blog source, then I link back to the blog by the + symbol at the end of the post. The images are just reproduced in this blog and I don't claim ownership to them and I try my best to attribute any images or videos to the original creators or sources. The images are not being used for commercial or editorial purposes and I am not profiting from them. My intent is just to bring attention to the great work that many artists and designers do as well as to educate my readers. It is also not my intent to infringe on any copyrighted images as, usually, they have already appeared in another blog and are just being reposted here but if I have done so, please email me at email@example.com and I will remove the post.

Why the name "Faith is Torment"?I was trying to figure out a name for a blog and happened upon a cinemagraph of the movie The Seventh Seal (1957) with this caption: Faith is a torment. It is like loving someone who is out there in the darkness but never appears, no matter how loudly you call. I thought it was appropriate for an art and design blog so I decided to call it Faith is Torment.
Design PhilosophyI subscribe to the Swiss Style, better known as International Style. I like white space, uniformity, and geometry in design with minimal style elements.
